Get ready Melbourne, because a gourmet Italiano adventure awaits! The Italian Wine + Food Festival is coming to our gorgeous city this June and is set to capture the full experience of the Italian lifestyle.
Here you’ll meet producers, talk to experts, and watch live cooking demonstrations, all paying homage to tradition and showcasing true Italian innovation. There’ll be over 200 wines to taste, wine masterclasses, pop up restaurants, a wine garden and even an Italian Marketplace, ready for you to shop-til-you-drop. The festival needs to go to the top of your list for things to do in Melbourne this Winter.
The festival will feature some of Melbourne’s top Italian chefs including Rosa Mitchell (Rosa’s Canteen), Johnny di Francesco (400 Gradi), Carmine Costantini (Pasta Adagio) plus Andrea Papadakis and Alberto Fava (Tipo 00).
Feast on pizza, pasta and Italian snacks from some our cities best restaurants. These include 400 Gradi, Caterina’s Cucina e Bar, Trattoria Emilia, Bar Idda, Pasta Classica, La Bonta, Small Axe, Pasta Adagio and Vaporetto.
The festival offers food and drink, entertainment and information to suit everyone from spaghetti-loving kids to the most engaged Italian-speaking wine lover.
My tip is to head to the Smeg Main Stage for delicious cooking demonstrations!

I have a crazy love of pizza, pasta and all things Italian. The most surprising thing is that there are no Italian genes in me at all, just love the taste 🙂
Mandy Graham

I need to visit Melbourne’s Italian Wine + Food Festival because I have studied Italian at school for 3 years now and I have chosen it as an elective for my HSC course, so visiting this festival would really bring the subject to life for me. I love the Italian culture, cuisine and language, so this would be a really great experience. (And I could treat my Mum with the second pass!)
🙂
Rachel K
So I can feel transported to a beautiful Italian terraced garden, overlooking a stairway and engulfing orange groves – all reminiscent of Renaissance Italy.
Indika Wijayasekera

Because I have a debilitating addiction to pizza that only so many Uber Eats orders can fuel until I have met every operational driver in Melbourne. Also, if I close my eyes I will be able to live out my Eat Pray Love dreams and finally have a chance to rehearse the only line of Italian I know – Più vino per favore! (more wine please!). #fluent #native #iwasbornandraisedontheamalficoast
Tamara
Because it’s too cold!!!…and I need to carb up on tasty pizza and pasta to help go through winter 🙏☺️

Love to experience this amazing Italian food and wine festival as I grew up till I was around 10 or 11 with a great Italian Nanna that made amazing Italian Sunday lunches like spaghetti with huge meatballs or yummy chunky Italian soup when we go for family Sunday lunches! I am a half Italian who lives wholly for good food & it’s no secret Italians do it better! I must go for the pizza, the pasta, the cheeses, the wines, the coffee, the truffles, the risotto, the Campari, the Aperol, the gelato… I simply cannot think of a day better spent than one where I eat about incredible Italian produce whilst speaking & learning from those most passionate about it! 🇮🇹👌
Aubrey
Melbourne at its heart is a multicultural city and celebrates Italian food and wine the best. My mother and her family migrated in the 50s and grew up in Fitzroy around the corner from the venue. It would be un-Melburnian of me to not go and indulge in my favourite food! This Melbourne girl needs to experience the Italian food + wine festival, pronto!
Rita Masutti
Experiencing Italian food, wine and secret recipes from top chefs and cooks is my ideal Sunday getaway without leaving the country.
Ben
Because June in Melbourne is freezing cold and the the best way to stay warm is to eat Pizza!
Lydia
Not only do I have an unhealthy obsession with Smeg Products right now.. (thanks House Rules), to catch some tips from the guys cooking up some awesome Italian food would be a treat. OBVIOUSLY a glass of Vino wouldn’t hurt either.. medicinal of course.
Deb (Two Cheeky Monkeys)
Because my mum’s favourite food is pizza and this would be the perfect way to cheer her up on the anniversary of my dad’s death.
Ainsley
So I can eat and drink all the things I love – pizza, pasta, wine. I want to learn new things.
