When the invitation came from Domaine Chandon to come along and celebrate the launch of their sparkling new hospitality centre, it didn’t take much for us to clear our diaries!
Not only were we the first fortunate vino lovers to visit their epic new space, we were also lucky enough to be flown from the Microflite Helicopter terminal in Docklands, straight to Domaine Chandon’s home in the picturesque Yarra Valley to join in the fun. Forget sitting in chaotic city traffic, we definitely took full advantage of the amazing 22 minute scenic route!
Our first stop at Domaine Chandon was an alfresco glass of bubbles, before we were transported via golf buggies into the centre of the vines, where a gorgeous picnic was set-up and awaiting our arrival.
A few (delicious) Chandon S cocktails later, we were apron’ed and glove’ed up, and ready to plant our very own grape vine – watch this space, the Melbourne Girl vintage will be ready in 2020!
It was then time to head back to the main building for the reveal of their incredible new hospitality centre, accompanied with a delicious, intimate lunch and an inspiring group discussion with Paul Vasileff (the esteemed 2017 Young Australian of the Year and founder of internationally acclaimed label, Paolo Sebastian).
Our first impressions of the new dining and retail space? It is #interiorspo heaven! Domaine Chandon partnered with interior design practice Foolscap Studio to overhaul the site and the end result is truly incredible – we are in love with the peach booths in the Tasting area, and the pink (Australian sourced) marble stone is *to die*.
The hospitality centre offers incredible views of the estate and vineyards, and the lunch we enjoyed was absolutely delicious.
All three courses were the perfect balance of locally sourced, Australian influence and à la carte inspired cuisine.
We can’t recommend a visit to Domaine Chandon more – grab your girl squad, treat yourself to a Sparkling tasting platter, then settle in for a long-lunch at their totally Instagrammable new space.
