On Saturday, Melbourne Girl was invited along to Malvern Town Hall to experience the VAMFF events, Boutique High Tea and Boutique Edition Runway, with thanks to Dilmah Australia.
The afternoon started with the Boutique Edition Runway show at 12pm, which showcased the fashions of many much-loved boutiques from Melbourne’s High Street, Malvern Road, Toorak Road and Glenferrie Road. The designer line-up (Camilla, Carla Zampatti, Et Al, John Cavill, Lisa Barron, Moss & Spy, Nicolangela, Rachel Gilbert and Trelise Cooper) presented many new season trends including structured silhouettes, feathers and fur detailing, pant suits and an injection of military style.
Malvern Town Hall Boutique High Tea and Runway
After the runway, I was invited to continue the stylish celebrations at the Boutique High Tea, which was sponsored by Dilmah Australia and hosted by Helen McCabe (Editor of Australian Women’s Weekly).
Malvern Town Hall was the perfect location to host the afternoon of delicious treats and fine sips. The majestic building and its furnishings created the perfect atmosphere to try the variety of Dilmah teas which were on offer, including my favourites Fragrant Jasmine and English Breakfast. The tea was served with delicious delicacies from Burch & Purchese, which looked almost too good to eat.
Helen McCabe gave an inspiring speech about connecting with women through the magazine and addressing current issues that we face today. Guests were also treated with a tip on how to make the perfect cup of tea from Bill McEwan (General Manager at Dilmah Australia) – “let black tea steep for longer to give it a richer flavour”.
Sounds like my cup of tea, thanks Bill.

Thanks so much for the beautiful afternoon Dilmah!
