A crowd of over 100,000 flocked to Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse today for the ‘Race that stops the Nation’.
It was all about colour, colour and more colour on Emirate’s Melbourne Cup Day.
Hundreds of beautifully dressed women competed in the Myer Fashions on the Field with Christine Spielmann, 28, from Holtze in the Northern Territory crowned the Women’s Racewear title for Emirates Melbourne Cup Day. Ms Spielmann wore a bright blue, lime, emerald green and black bespoke Nadia Foti ensemble with a blue laser-cut, anodized aluminum millinery piece by Joanna Roberts and black accessories and will now compete on Crown Oaks Day for the Victorian title.
The VRC’s invitation-only Design Award was presented to Victorian Anthony Capon, 30, who showcased a black and white check-print on model Ellie Lemons with pink hair accentuated by a draped large bow on the right shoulder, Tony Bianco shoes and an Olga Berg clutch.
