What Hope means to Melbournians at Christmas

The Salvation Army hit the streets of Windsor this week to find out what hope means to Melbournians at Christmas.

Taking inspiration from Humans of New York (#swoon), the Salvos partnered with lifestyle photographer Simon Shiff to capture beautiful black and white images accompanied by individual messages of hope.

The movement, coined Humans of Hope, is part of the Salvos annual Christmas Appeal which will this year strive to support 300,000 Aussies in need. In this post is a selection of some of our favourite portraits, as well as a personal message of hope from our contributing writer Lucy Allen (that’s me!).
