The Stokehouse is back baby and its casual downstairs bar and eatery is ready and at your service – say hello to Pontoon Bar on St Kilda Beach.
Tucked within an architectural sand dune, Pontoon draws inspiration from Mediterranean seaside drinking and eating and provides the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of social shenanigans.
With a revolving bar offering of craft beers and ciders, top quality wines, tantalizing cocktails and the ever-popular Froze (frozen rosé), Pontoon provides the perfect tipple to compliment its sharing menu.
With an impressive custom-made 4 metre long wood fire grill, the Pontoon kitchen is serving out delicious morsels of Fresh Sardines with Harissa, Pastry and Pickled Onion, Grilled King Prawns and Slow Wood Roasted Beef Brisket Toastie with Jalapeno and Manchego Cheese.
There’s also a wide range of salad options and wood fired pizzas, including Nduja Sausage, Padron Peppers, Olives and Feta or Grilled Eggplant, Fermented Chilli and Anchovies.
Aesthetically, Pontoon is not reminiscent of the original weatherboard Stokehouse venue that was destroyed by fires in 2014, however it’s the gorgeous creation of interior architecture George Livissianis and is an open space boasting natural light and detailed timberwork.
With capacity for 400 people, there’s plenty of room for everyone this summer, so be sure to head along with your squad for a Sunday session!
Pontoon is open from 12pm until late every day.
