Bring it On The Musical

Atheneum Theatre, Melbourne
11 – 27 July 2019

Are you ready to put the “itch” in bitch? Haha, just kidding… But seriously, this musical which follows a champion high school cheerleading squad is sprinkled with sass! Inspired by the hit film from 2000, Bring it On The Musical is a hilarious, high energy hit featuring explosive choreography with aerial stunts.

It’s only running for 3 weeks in Melbourne, so be sure to snap up your tickets asap!

Winter Night Market

Queen Victoria Market
Every Wednesday evening until 28 August 2019

Held every week throughout the chilly months at the Queen Victoria Markets, the Melbourne Winter Night Market is the place to experience true Melbourne culture through eats, drinks, music, design and a hint of lane way style.

Tip – Get in early, because Christmas in July celebrations continue until 31 July.

Head to the ‘G for a Footy Game

Melbourne Cricket Ground
Brunton Ave, Richmond
Saturday 21 July 2019

My regular readers will know that I’m a huge fan of the Geelong Cats. Most of their home games are a cruisin’ one hour drive, west down the freeway at GMHBA Stadium, however for us Melbourne based fans, they do have a huge match coming up on July 21 against the Hawks at the MCG.

The ‘G is Australia’s largest and without a doubt, most iconic sporting venue. Boasting a capacity of over 100k, the stadium is set to host the Toyota AFL Grand Final on the last weekend in September (let’s hope the Cats will be playing!)

Shakespeare in Love

Arts Centre Melbourne, Playhouse
100 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne
15 July 2019 – 7 August 2019

Arts Centre Melbourne is Australia’s largest performing arts venue. A feature for us Melbournians, this Australian Premiere production guarantees a rollicking night of romance and backstage fun, with lavish musical accompaniment.

Before the show, be sure to book yourself into the near-by Italian bar and eatery Fatto Bar and Cantina, for their Pre-Theatre menu ($45 for 2 courses or $55 for 3 courses). It’s one of my top 15 Favourite places to eat and drink in the City.

What to wear in Melbourne this Winter?

Melbourne is well known for it’s stylish love of the colour black, and this trend is perfect for winter. Be sure to layer up and stay warm as top temperatures during the day average between 10°C – 15°C, with overnight lows around 5°C.

Keep a jacket at the ready (or a really comfy sweater) to stay warm in the cooler climate, and wear something underneath so that you can peel off anything heavy when inside, in heated areas.

Insider Tip: It’s great time of year to escape to the alpine region, with snow fields as close as a 2.5 hour drive away.

What’s that you ask… Does it Snow in Melbourne?

Snow in Melbourne is extremely rare. My top tip to experience the snow fields, is to take a short road trip with your squad to the Victorian High Country, a region which receives great snowfall throughout winter.
