Vintage House Daylesford

What an fantastic weekend I had in Daylesford with my husband and little man, Jack.

On Friday afternoon we departed the city and headed to the pretty spa town, which is located in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, approximately 115 kilometres north-west of Melbourne.

Daylesford is a place to unwind, pamper yourself, indulge your senses, or simply enjoy an enticing menu of natural attractions.

Close enough for a day trip, yet far enough away both in a physical and spiritual sense to be the perfect escape from the hectic hustle of Melbourne.

Our Airbnb accommodation at Vintage House Daylesford was in one word ‘amazing’.

A renovated miners cottage by the talented Interior Designer, Kali Cavanagh, Vintage House Daylesford has been featured in several international design magazines including the cover of INSIDE OUT magazine March 2014 and Living etc UK July 2014.

Surrounded by various established trees, Vintage House Daylesford sits high on almost an acre of land with views over Wombat State Forest and Doctors Gully.

Completely restored and re-designed with love to highlight the original features of the house. Combining the use of wood, metals and shades of white, black and everything in between to bring new life to the cottage. Finished with antique, vintage and industrial furniture and artwork from around the globe.

Each room has been carefully considered and designed. With 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, the house and studio currently sleep a maximum of 6 people (perfect for 3 couples).

As one of Australia’s few spa towns, Daylesford should be on everyone’s must-visit list. The town’s numerous spa’s, restaurants and galleries are popular alongside the many beautiful gardens and lakes.

The broader area around the town, including Hepburn Springs to the north, is known for its natural spring mineral spas, offering an attractive and scenic destination for visitors, surrounded by thick forests and lush gullies.
