The Richmond Yard

Who knew the year 2023 could be so hip? This was my first thought when stepping into Melbourne’s latest pop-up venture The Richmond Yard. Post-apocalyptic is the theme with this location acting as a home base to urban renegades and underground resistors. Uh-huh I’m totally down with that!

Five old-school trailers form the focal point of the yard and make for the perfect private booth, circa 2023 of course, for you and your three best mates.

My besties and I kicked off our Saturday night with beers and a billy-can bucket filled with the finest cocktail, the ‘Scorched Earth’ was our choice, by local cocktail king Andy Griffiths.

To compliment our beverages we settled on two servings of Uncle Jung’s padak spring onion chicken, think the most mouth-watering bite sized pieces of chicken you’ll ever eat, while we wound down to some futuristic beats.

The Richmond Yard is the ideal spot for a summer night sojourn. Its open space and laidback vibe allow you to easily get lost in good conversation making it a perfect meeting point for Melbournians.

Trust me you’ll be left skipping out of there thinking 2023 won’t be so bad after all.
