This Queen’s Birthday long weekend, indulge in the best of the Yarra Valley against the backdrop of the Healesville Sanctuary’s stunning bushland setting for the Wine and Wildlife gourmet experience.
There will be an exciting line-up of local wineries, breweries and a hearty winter menu for you to sample and purchase. Across the three days you can indulge in the finest wines,craft beers and cider, as well as delicious chocolates and gourmet cheese.
Sanctuary Harvest Head Chef Pascal will be pulling out all the winter favourites from slow cooked beef with winter root veggies to pulled lamb rolls with mint jelly. Warm up by roaring open fires and delight your senses with live acoustic music by Rhys Crimmin, capturing crowds with his warm bluesy style.
The Sanctuary keepers will also be roaming the grounds with some of their furry, feathered and scaly friends for serendipitous wildlife encounters.
Now in its 5th year, the Wine and Wildlife weekend is a winter event not to be missed. It’s the perfect opportunity to throw on your gumboots, round up your friends and experience winter warmers with a difference!

I will pair a Meredith goats cheese with a glass of De Bortoli Estate Chardonnay and visit the Koalas and Kangaroos. Then for some Kennedy and Wilson dark chocolate and the eagle will be calling. It’s all of my favourite things in one, wine, cheese and chocolate, all while watching wildlife!! I love myself a Punt Road Pinot Noir, and a beautiful De Bortoli wine with cheese would be divine. I love wineries and this sounds amazing. I am not up to date with alot of wines, but would love to learn more about them. As my son is marrying into a family who love wines; so this would be a wonderful way to learn more. I love Dark Chocolate.. And I do like a few cheeses but I am going to sound boring but my favorite is Crumbly cheeses. This experience would be amazing and its also in the area where my soon to be Mother-in-law is very familiar with.

Oh men I hope this competition is still going!! I just arrived in Melbourne to live for a while. Really need to discover the Australian wines from this region! Top it of with seeing some iconic wildlife sounds like the perfect plan for this weekend!!
I am looking forward to tasting the wine from the Bortoli Winery, because it’s from the Yarra Valley, so it’s regional, but why I choose this (as a girl from Europe) I do looooove my cheese! So this one is on my top list.
