For those yet to visit Serotonin Eatery, now is the time. Located far enough away from the hustle of Chapel Street and the frustrating traffic of Richmond, this Happiness Cafe is situated in the quiet streets of Burnley and ensures you escape from the fast paced noises and hums of city life.
With a venue that exudes comfort, light and vibrance it’s no wonder this has become a favourite with locals (and travellers) alike.
Options such as organic specialty lattes, juices, smoothies, coconuts, organic single origin teas, specialty coffee and a nutritional (vegetarian) menu to boot – Serotonin Eatery does a spectacular job at leaving you spoiled for choice.
I enjoyed the Cacao Coconut latte (vegan) which is made with 70% (house made) dark chocolate with organic raw cacao & grated cacao butter spun on organic coconut milk and added a cheeky shot of espresso. It’s served with a smile (literally, emoticon style) and provides instantaneous feel goods, even if the current weather situation in Melbourne is gloomy (c’mon Melbourne, enough with the rain).
The Dreamy Winter Porridge (available before 11am only) is truly the ultimate. Made up of five grain porridge with golden flax meal, mulberries, apples, figs, macadamia, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, wattle seeds, pear, peach, goji berries, banana chips, cranberries & mixed roasted nuts topped with a custard Apple and a rhubarb compote, it’s everything you could want in a breakfast dish. It’s creamy, it’s crunchy, it’s fruity, it’s sweet, it’s sour and it’s just fantastic.
I’m going as far as naming this MELBOURNE’S BEST PORRIDGE. For real.
