If you’re looking for healthy places to eat in Melbourne, you’ve landed in the right place!
I’m really excited to share with you all my Healthy Foodie’s guide to the Top 6 places to eat in Melbourne. Hopefully you have been enjoying the delicious and guilt-free meals that I recommended in my first article ‘Top 6 places to eat a Healthy Brunch in Melbourne‘.
Although we are the brunching capital, typically us Melbournians love a good wine and dine experience, so the recommendations listed below also include a few fabulous dinner places.
Because I am all about balance and believe that health is more than just nourishing the body; I believe it’s also about nourishing the soul, I have included a few places for you and your Melbourne Foodie friends, to not only enjoy a yummy meal, but also enjoy a sneaky glass of grapes.
If you stick to a healthy and well-balanced diet the majority of the time, where your portions are perfect for body goals, coupling this with some regular exercise, then I strongly believe you can enjoy the finer things in life on a regular basis. This is something the Melbourne Foodie guide will be able to help you with, once it’s released early next year. The guide gives you home-cooked delicious meals, plus it also recommends not only where to eat, for brunch and dinner; but also what to order.
Here is another snapshot of just some of the places to eat and some of the meals to order. All of the venues below are listed in the guide.

Top 6 Healthy places to eat in Melbourne
1. Fish and Chippery by the Atlantic, Southbank
Situated along the Yarra River, makes take-away fish and chips look classy. Fresh seafood, fresh salads and a variety dishes to choose from. This place is perfect for those who can’t be bothered cooking of a Friday night after work.
Melbourne Foodies I recommend for entrée one soft prawn taco; the grilled barramundi with a healthy greens side salad for your main and one glass of wine, at Fish and Chippery.
2. Collective Espresso, Camberwell
Sister (or brother) to Short Straw, this cafe is perfectly positioned near Camberwell Station. This white and bright trendy space has very loyal customers who keep coming back for either the great food or the super friendly atmosphere.
Melbourne Foodies I recommend the Smoothie Bowl with a Peppermint Tea at Collective Espresso.
The sibling of Auction Rooms. Friendly staff providing you with a quick service. If you are looking to grab a healthy meal on the run, then this is your place.
Melbourne Foodies I recommend the Mix-grain and Herb Salad (seasonal) with a latte takeaway at Counter.
4. Spring and Summer, St Kilda
Thai fusion and all class. Newly opened on the Acland St end of Barkly St. This split level restaurant is the place for you and the girls to meet up on a Friday night after work, or for you and the boy to do Saturday night date night.
Melbourne Foodies I recommend that you share for entree: Edamame and King Fish Sashimi and for mains: Grilled pork neck and Pad See Ew with Wagu beef.
I often head here straight after bootcamp, as it is open for crazy people who are up and about at 7 am. This place is perfect for a warm summer morning as it has a great outdoor seating area. Here, you can sit and watch passers by (aka watching other crazy people who are up at the crack of dawn).
Melbourne Foodies I recommend the Acai Bowl with a Cherry Bomb Smoothie at SOS.
With meals that are ‘Loved by Lola’ what’s there not to love about Grill’d. Far from your typical greasy burger joint, they have created and made burgers healthy. Made in Melbourne. What’s not to love?
Melbourne Foodies I recommend one of Lola’s meals; the Superpower salad with a mineral water at Grill’d.
