It’s not often I post about negative experiences or negative happenings in Melbourne, as this blog has and always will be my happy place. A chance for me to share all the wonderful things I love about living in this beautiful city.
But sadly, last Friday, a tragedy rocked our world.
Innocent lives were lost, and many families have been left devastated, due to a senseless act.
Five people died and about 30 others were injured when a car drove onto the footpath and ploughed into pedestrians in the CBD on Friday.
The feature photo at the top of this blog post shows a very moving sight on the front steps of Melbourne’s GPO building today, flowers laid to pay tribute to all the innocent victims of last week’s Bourke Street tragedy.

The Victorian Government has set up a fund for the families affected by the incident. It pledged an initial $100,000 and said anyone who wanted to make a donation can do so, simply by clicking through here.
If you have any general enquiries regarding the fund please call 1800 226 226.
Coming Together
Victorians and Australians alike, can come together to the aid those who have been most affected.
My heart goes out to all those who are suffering. What a sad, frightening event and I’d like to take a moment to toast everyone who has helped out in the city after this incident including the hard working teams at Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria and to all the doctors and nurses, who are helping to save innocent lives!
Be sure to call your friends and family to tell them you love them, because in the crazy world we live in, we shouldn’t take life for granted for one second!
Support is available is available for those in need.
