7 Places you need to visit on the Mornington Peninsula

Sorrento Beach - Victoria (Melbourne Girl)

We’ve rounded up 7 Places you need to visit on the Mornington Peninsula.

The Pen is one of my favourite places to escape to from Melbourne! Perfect for a day trip or a weekend getaway, the region hosts many fabulous beaches, cafes, sights and bucket list experiences.

In the words of Jose Chaves… “For her the ocean was more than a dream, it was a place she needed to visit to find herself. And when she returned to the city, you could see the sun in her eyes, the wind in her hair, and taste in the infinite salt on her lips.”

Places to visit on Mornington Peninsula

Red Hill Cherry Farm

69 Prossors Lane
Red Hill VIC 3937

Get out your diary and mark in a date with your girls, because from mid November to early January, you can pick your own sweet and morello cherries at Victoria’s oldest pick your own cherry farm, Red Hill Cherry Farm.

This Insta-worthy hot spot is a chic-a-cherry cola delight. Their trees are maintained at an optimum height that allows for easily access to the fruit. It’s in Melbourne Girl words… a cherry-bomb fun time!

If you are planning a trip to the farm in advance, we recommended that you check out their website or facebook page before you visit.

Want the best views of the Mornington Peninsula?

Be sure to take a ride inside one of their state of the art gondolas, with incredible scenic views above the Peninsula shires and across Port Phillip Bay, to Melbourne CBD and beyond.

Gliding quietly and peacefully, it’s a great attraction for families and love birds alike, completed with lovely staff and a-class local, friendly service.

Merchant & Maker

675 Point Nepean Rd,
McCrae VIC 3938

Merchant & Maker is one of my favourite spots to grab breakfast on the Peninsula. Tucked away in sleepy McCrae, this award-winning cafe serves up incredible coffee and has a delicious, innovative menu (I can never say no to the bacon and egg roll #fitspo).

And parents, you’ll love the hefty colouring-in books and crayons, and handy high-chairs make it super kid-friendly too!

5 Reasons to escape Melbourne to Cape Schanck

One Spa - RACV Cape Schanck

One Spa at RACV Cape Schanck

Trent Jones Drive
Cape Schanck VIC 3939

One Spa is in one word… luxurious. This chic, architectural day spa at the RACV Resort is designed with 100% pure relaxation and indulgence in mind.

My bestie and I booked ourselves in for a Friday afternoon treat, their Melt the Stress Away package. Starting with a hammam bathing session, the package also included a facial and shoulder massage. It was sensational. Up there with one of the best spa sessions I’ve ever had!

If nothing else, take a day trip to Mornington Peninsula for a Spa session here! DO IT!

Peninsula Hot Springs - Melbourne Girl

Peninsula Hot Springs

140 Springs Lane
Fingal VIC 3939

If you’re a girl (like me) who loves a serious pampering, then the Peninsula Hot Springs are for you!

This natural hot springs and day spa is located on the outskirts of the township of Rye; providing the idyllic setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Take a dip in one of their bathing pools or book yourself in for one of their luxury treatments… they are amazing!

The Hot Springs are the perfect place to unwind with your bae or group of friends, and best of all, it’s the ideal spot to visit in Winter, Autumn, Summer and/or Spring… A winner all year round!

Montalto - Mornington Peninsula

Montalto Winery

33 Shoreham Road
Red Hill South VIC 3937

Montalto is one of the most beautiful winery’s to visit on the Mornington Peninsula.

My recent visit was absolutely perfect. After a quick visit to their cellar door to purchase some house wine and oil, we dined in the Piazza garden overlooking the vineyard and sculpture trail.

Want a lunch tip? Try the beetroot salad, it’s the perfect side for any of their delicious mains on the (seasonal and locally grown) menu – especially their wood fired pizza, yum!

Jackalope Hotel

166 Balnarring Raod
Merricks North VIC 3926

Jackalope is one hellova sophisticated boutique hotel. It’s taken out not one, but three of Gourmet Travellers tops awards including Hotel of the Year!!! Yep, it’s that bloody good.

Inspired by the concept of alchemy, Jackalope is a hotel unlike anything you’ll find in the region (and in our opinion, across Australia). It’s luxurious and it’s quirky. The fine dining restaurant Doot Doot Doot is outstanding (as is the casual dining option Rare Hare) and the vineyard views from a Vineyard room – WOW!

Treat yo’self to a weekend stay, you won’t regret it!
