Please don’t forget you can easily let us know about any other great things to do, by dropping a message in the comments at the bottom of the page. We are always happy to hear your suggestions so we can have extra fun in this beautiful city!
What to do in Melbourne this July
Visit pop up dessert museum, Sugar Republic
Sugar Republic, a pop up dessert museum dedicated to the celebration of dessert, baking, lollies and all things sweet. Go on a journey through 14 amazing sensory rooms and relive your childhood as you splash about in a massive bubblegum ball pit, climb a sherbet rainbow and make yourself the ultimate soft serve ice cream with ALL the sprinkles.
Be sure to purchase your ticket online asap, because they are sure to sell out everyday, and there are no tickets available on the door.
Popping up until the end of August, 2018
The Rocky Horror Show
The Rocky Horror Show opens at Her Majesty’s Theatre this month and I’m excited to have my tickets secured and at the ready to head along.
The show follows squeaky-clean sweethearts Brad and Janet on an adventure they’ll never forget. Bursting at the seams with the timeless classics including Sweet Transvestite, Damn it Janet, and of course, the pelvic-thrusting Time Warp, Richard O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show is a non-stop party!
Playing until August 24, 2018
Escape to the King Valley
Located approximately three hours north east of Melbourne, the King Valley has to be a bucket list location for anyone who considers themselves a foodie, or wants to treat themselves to a relaxing, pampering, gourmet High Country adventure, away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Known as our country’s premier Italian varietal wine producing region and for its recent history as pioneers of Prosecco in Australia, I like to refer to the King Valley as our own little slice of Italy, in the heart of the Victorian countryside. It’s a amzing road trip adventure for food, wineries, hot air balloon rides and gourmet tastings.

Head along to the Winter Night Market
Clear your Wednesday evenings Melbourne, because the Night Market has arrived and they are a must-experience event this Winter.
Held every week throughout the chilly months at the Queen Victoria Markets, the Melbourne Winter Night Market is the place to experience true Melbourne culture through eats, drinks, music, design and a hint of lane way style.
Every Wednesday evening throughout Winter.
Wizard of Oz – The Musical
The Wizard of Oz is an enchanting revision of the all-time classic MGM screenplay, with all your favourite characters and iconic moments from the movie, plus a few surprises along the way, including some wonderful new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. The Melbourne production stars Anthony Warlow, Lucy Durack and Jemma Rix.
The Wizard of Oz is playing at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre and is only running until July 22, so be quick to snap up your tickets before it heads interstate!
Playing until July 22, 2018
Get your skates on at The Ice Rink
If you haven’t had the chance to visit Eastland Shopping Centre, the chilly months are the perfect time, because they have school holiday fun covered and also – BIG NEWS – their Ice Rink is popping back up again this year until the end of August.
This year, the rink is 20% bigger and they’re hosting a great line-up of themed days and nights including Throwback Tuesdays, Tiny Tots Thursday, RnB Fridays, and Sunday Family Funday (the ultimate day out with face painting, children’s entertainment and family friendly music). On Sunday mornings the rink will also be open to children and adults with special needs to encourage participation on the ice in a safe and secure environment, which is such a beautiful initiative for our local community.
Popping up until August 26, 2018

Just happened to come across this website. Really love the idea. I’ve been wanting to do something similar for a very long time – alas whilst inspiration was there, motivation wasn’t – so I’m glad that someone has done something with that inspiration! The website looks lovely, is easy to navigate, and has some great travel spots and hints. Keep it up.

Thanks for your kind words Nishan.
