Hello Summer! My absolute favourite time of the year in Melbourne! The sun is shining, the beats are turned up loud, the drinks are flowing, and the nightlife is in full-on party mode.
We’ve rounded up the best markets, pop-ups, musicals and events this summer, so you can rest assured that you’ll have the time of your life in Melbourne during the warmer months.
Fun things to do this Summer in Melbourne
School of Rock the Musical
School of Rock – The Musical follows dropout Dewey Finn, a failed rock star forced to earn some extra cash by posing as a teacher at a prestigious prep school. But Dewey isn’t going to teach his straight-laced students algebra or arithmetic, oh no. These kids are going to learn what it takes to become the most awesome rock ‘n’ roll band of all time.
Since opening on Broadway to critical acclaim in 2015, School of Rock has been playing to packed houses and is now captivating audiences all across the US and in London’s West End. And now it’s Melbourne’s turn… A show for all the family!
Running until February, 2019 at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne
Arbory Afloat
Arbory Afloat has re-berthed for Summer on the Yarra River. This year the pop-up floating bar is bigger, brighter and better than ever before. I love it for it’s spectacular views, European umbrella vibes, epic gin selection, and the tastiest summer seafood bites.
Hot tip – it will be THE PLACE to experience new years eve, but be sure to snap up your tickets asap.
Find it along Flinders Walk, Melbourne
Sunset Safari
The Sunset Safari at Werribee Open Range Zoo is a truly unforgettable evening which also aids in the fight against wildlife extinction and supports vital international conservation partners, including the Rhino Fund Uganda.
If you are looking for your next bucket list experience in Melbourne, then the Sunset Safari is for you! The experience was unforgettable, and for a bargain price of only $105, I promise you it will be the ultimate night out with a completely authentic wildlife and cultural experience.
